Administration Joomla! 5.x • After changing domain SMTP auth no longer works

Our site sent emails via SMTP through Microsoft365 for a year or two now. Last week we changed our Joomla domain from site.com to subdomain.site.com. Now we noticed that the SMTP Error: Could Not Authenticate is coming up again even though we did not change anything in the global configuration. Any ideas what I should do?
